BMW India is set to bring a fresh batch of the highly coveted M2 CS to Indian shores. Originally launched as a strictly limited import, the track-focused performance coupe saw such high demand that the brand has decided to reopen bookings and resume deliveries in the near future.
As a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU), the M2 CS remains an exclusive offering with a very small allocation of units available for the country.
Performance & Powertrain
The M2 CS is the most powerful iteration of the M2 lineup, borrowing DNA directly from the larger M4 Competition. It is engineered for those who prioritize track dynamics over daily cruising.
-
Engine: 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six.
-
Output: 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
-
Transmission: 8-speed automatic (Rear-Wheel Drive only; no manual option).
-
Acceleration: 0–100 kmph in a blistering 3.8 seconds.
-
Top Speed: 302 kmph.
Price and Market Positioning
The “CS” (Club Sport) moniker comes with a significant premium over the standard model, reflecting its enhanced performance and rarity.
Lightweight Engineering & Chassis
To sharpen the car’s agility, BMW engineers trimmed 30 kg from the standard M2. This was achieved through the extensive use of Carbon-Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for the bonnet and roof panel.
The chassis has also been overhauled:
-
Suspension: Bespoke dampers and springs.
-
Ride Height: Lowered by 8 mm for a lower center of gravity.
-
Wheels: Exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels in a Matt Gold Bronze finish (19-inch front / 20-inch rear).
Striking Design: Interior & Exterior
The M2 CS is visually distinguished by its aerodynamic “Ducktail” spoiler and carbon-fiber elements including the rear diffuser, mirror caps, and center console.
Inside, the cabin is a blend of luxury and racing intent:
-
M Carbon Bucket Seats: Upholstered in Merino leather with illuminated CS branding.
-
Alcantara Accents: Spread across the dashboard and touchpoints.
-
Exclusive Details: M seatbelts and black door sill plates featuring the “M2 CS” logo in red.
With its return, the M2 CS solidifies its spot as the ultimate driver’s car in BMW India’s portfolio—provided you can secure one of the few remaining slots.
