Popular Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas has found herself at the center of social media backlash following a controversial performance at the Quake Arena in Hyderabad. Disgruntled concertgoers have taken to online platforms to call out the artist for a massive scheduling delay, blatant lip-syncing, and a general lack of professionalism.
The wave of criticism sparked after an attendee shared an Instagram reel documenting what they termed a “terrible experience.” The post quickly gained traction among fans who felt severely let down by the live event.
Three-Hour Delay and No Apology
According to reports from attendees, the concert was officially scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM. However, Jasmine Sandlas reportedly did not take the stage until approximately 11:20 PM—leaving a frustrated crowd waiting for nearly three and a half hours.
Worse still, fans noted that the singer failed to acknowledge the massive delay or offer any apology upon her late arrival.
“I was a big fan of her but literally disappointed so much! The show was supposed to start at 8 pm but Jasmine Sandlas came at 11:20 with no acknowledgement or apology at all. Three hours late!” an attendee wrote.
Allegations of Lip-Syncing and a ‘Dead Vibe’
The frustration only intensified once the performance began. Audiences alleged that instead of a genuine live performance, the singer heavily relied on lip-syncing, raising questions about the value of ticket prices for a supposedly “live” gig.
The user added: “And then you come and lip sync, literally what, on a live show?”
The combination of the long wait and the lack of live vocals reportedly ruined the atmosphere, resulting in a “dead vibe” from the audience. To make matters worse, the singer reportedly ended the set abruptly and left the stage without thanking the crowd or addressing the night’s shortcomings. The disgruntled fan concluded, “Jasmine Sandlas, you let your fans down big time.”
Venue Management Under Fire
The criticism wasn’t reserved solely for the artist; the venue and event management at Quake Arena Hyderabad also faced severe heat from attendees who labeled the event a “scam.”
Comments on the viral post highlighted a logistical nightmare, with one fan pointing out:
-
Long Wait Times: Fans struggled to redeem cover charges and faced hour-long queues for basic services.
-
Overpriced Food: Limited food stalls resulted in attendees paying exorbitant prices, such as ₹600 for a meager portion of paneer after a 60-minute wait.
As of now, neither Jasmine Sandlas nor the management team at Quake Arena Hyderabad has issued an official statement or response regarding the allegations.
