Hero MotoCorp has wrapped up the first quarter of FY2026-27 (April–June 2026) with a powerful 22.69% expansion in cumulative factory dispatches, pushing total volumes to 16,77,313 units (up from 13.67 lakh units in Q1 last year).
While the headline quarterly figure shows strong double-digit growth, the company navigating mixed market dynamics in June 2026, managing a minor dip in overall wholesale volumes even as on-ground retail registrations surged.
The June 2026 Shift: Wholesales vs. Real Retail Demand
In June 2026, Hero MotoCorp deliberately rationalized factory dispatches, resulting in a 2.31% dip in total wholesales. However, official government VAHAN data indicates that actual consumer demand remained robust.
-
Total Wholesale Dispatches: 5,41,159 units (down from 5,53,963 in June 2025).
-
Domestic Dispatches: 5,02,890 units (a 4.24% drop year-on-year).
-
Actual Retail Registrations (VAHAN): 4.66 lakh units—marking a healthy 18% surge over June last year, proving that inventory is moving smoothly out of showrooms.
Segment Breakdown: Scooters and EVs Take the Lead
The slight dip in June’s volume was primarily driven by a pullback in the legacy motorcycle segment, but Hero’s expanding portfolio of scooters and electric vehicles sharply offset those losses.
| Segment | June 2026 (Units) | June 2025 (Units) | Year-on-Year Change |
| Motorcycles | 4,78,701 | 5,12,658 | ⬇️ 6.62% |
| Scooters | 62,458 | 41,305 | ⬆️ 51.21% |
| VIDA Electric Vehicles | 21,812 | N/A | ⬆️ 185% (VAHAN Registrations) |
Product updates like the newly launched Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 and the initial rollout of alternative flex-fuel variants helped anchor the brand’s standard portfolio during the transition.
Exports Fire Up on All Cylinders
Hero’s global expansion push is showing excellent returns, mimicking a trend seen across other major Indian two-wheeler brands this season.
-
June Exports: Climbed 32.75% to reach 38,269 units, compared to 28,827 units in the same month last year.
-
Q1 Cumulative Exports: Crossed the milestone mark at 1,05,206 units, surging past the 64,413 vehicles shipped internationally in Q1 of the previous fiscal year.
