The highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana officially kicked off its promotional journey with a star-studded gala titled Pratham Sankalp at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on July 18, 2026. The high-profile event saw the assembly of the film’s lead cast, creative directors, and co-producers for a special preview event ahead of its upcoming global rollout.
A Star-Studded Arrival
The red carpet witnessed heavy celebrity presence, drawing immense traction across social media platforms:
-
The Lead Pair: Ranbir Kapoor, stepping into the role of Lord Ram, arrived at the venue alongside his co-star Sai Pallavi, who portrays Sita. Kapoor notably maintained his public appearance despite recovering from a recent bout of conjunctivitis.
-
Creative Hub: Director Nitesh Tiwari was accompanied by his wife and fellow filmmaker, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary.
-
Ensemble & Industry Heavyweights: Co-stars Rakul Preet Singh (Surpanakha), Ravi Dubey (Laxman), and Kunal Kapoor (Indra Dev) walked the carpet alongside veteran actor Arun Govil and singer Kumar Vishwas. Producer Namit Malhotra and filmmaker Karan Johar were also present, cementing a major newly finalized domestic distribution deal with Dharma Productions.
Musical Debut & Spiritual Artistry
One of the evening’s primary highlights was a live performance by sitar virtuoso Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, the youngest disciple of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar. Sharma made his formal Bollywood scoring debut by performing a new track titled “Rama Rama” from the film’s soundtrack, which he is co-creating alongside Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
Adding to the spiritual theme of the night, Sharma caught the attention of fans by sporting a custom, symbolic orange wristwatch featuring the Ayodhya Mandir on its dial and intricate engravings of Lord Ram and Hanuman Ji.
