If you are planning to park a brand new luxury vehicle in your garage, you might want to sign on the dotted line sooner rather than later. BMW Group India has announced an upcoming price increase of up to 2% across its entire portfolio, effective July 1, 2026.
This adjustment marks the second price revision for the German luxury carmaker in a short span, following a previous price hike implemented earlier in April 2026. The new pricing structure will apply to all models under both the BMW and MINI brands.
Why Are Prices Going Up?
According to Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, the decision stems from unavoidable macroeconomic pressures. The company cited two primary drivers forcing the adjustment:
-
Rupee Depreciation: A weakening Indian Rupee against major foreign currencies has pushed up foreign exchange costs.
-
Escalating Logistics Costs: Rising global and regional freight and supply chain expenses continue to impact operations.
“To protect our premium standards against macroeconomic headwinds… we are introducing a price increase of up to 2% across our portfolio,” Brar stated, adding that the adjustment ensures the brand can maintain its “uninterrupted delivery of superior engineering and world-class care.”
Affected Portfolios: Made-in-India vs. Imports
The price hike will affect both vehicles assembled locally at BMW’s Chennai plant and those imported as Completely Built-Up units (CBUs).
| Production Type | Affected Vehicle Lineup |
| Locally Produced Models | BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series LWB, 5 Series LWB, 7 Series, X1, X3, X5, X7, M340i, and the all-electric iX1 LWB. |
| Completely Built-Up (CBU) Imports | BMW i5 M60, i7, i7 M70, iX, M440i Convertible, M2 Coupe, M4 Competition, M5, and the flagship XM plug-in hybrid. |
