Fresh spy images have emerged online, offering the first clear look inside the cabin of Honda’s upcoming electric SUV, the Honda 0 Alpha. Currently undergoing real-world testing on Indian roads ahead of its anticipated early 2027 launch, the vehicle marks a major shift in design and tech for Honda’s EV portfolio.
Tech-Focused Interior Layout
The leaked images reveal a heavily modernized, layered dashboard that trades Honda’s traditional understated aesthetic for a high-tech layout:
-
Dual Screen Setup: Taking center stage on top of the “scooped” dashboard is a large, floating touchscreen infotainment system. Directly behind the steering wheel sits a secondary, smaller digital driver’s display.
-
Tactile and Digital Balance: While screens dominate, Honda hasn’t abandoned ergonomics. The center console still features physical hardware buttons, likely dedicated to quick-access controls for climate settings and ventilated seats.
-
Sporty Controls: The driver interacts with a three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel equipped with integrated paddle shifters. In an EV layout, these are intended to adjust regenerative braking on the fly.
Rugged, Blocky Exterior Design
The 0 Alpha moves completely away from the smooth, curved lines of Honda’s current mid-size SUV offering, the Elevate. Instead, it leans heavily into an imposing, rugged silhouette:
-
Upright Stance: Features a boxy, near-vertical front fascia housing rectangular headlight enclosures.
-
Chunky Trim: Squared-off wheel arches, heavy plastic body cladding, and beefy front and rear bumpers emphasize its off-road stance.
-
Rear Profile: The back end drops straight down with a near-vertical tailgate flanked by slim, vertically oriented LED tail lamps.
Battery and Competition
While Honda has not finalized local specifications, the 0 Alpha is expected to utilize advanced battery cells sourced from CATL’s manufacturing hub in Indonesia.
When it hits the market, it will compete in a crowded mid-size electric SUV space against both domestic and global rivals:
-
Tata Sierra EV & Mahindra BE 6
-
Hyundai Creta EV & MG ZS EV
-
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara & Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
