Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw have jointly laid the foundation stones for massive electronics manufacturing projects worth approximately Rs 6,750 crore in Yamuna City, Jewar.
This development marks a significant shift for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) vision, transitioning the country from a simple assembly hub into deep tech manufacturing.
The Anchor Projects & Economic Impact
The mega-investment is anchored by two major electronics and engineering giants, establishing a critical node for the semiconductor and tech ecosystem in North India.
-
ASCENT-K Circuit (Rs 3,250 Crore): A joint venture with South Korea’s KCC, this facility will specialize in manufacturing advanced, high-density, and complex multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) spanning up to 20 to 22 layers.
-
AMBER Enterprises (Rs 3,500 Crore): This unit will focus on structural HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) components along with specialized PCB assemblies.
-
Job Creation: Together, these two manufacturing facilities are projected to generate direct employment for roughly 3,000 personnel.
Eradicating the Import Burden
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) act as the foundational “brain” of almost all electronic devices—from smartphones to industrial machinery. Historically, this has been a major vulnerability for India’s trade balance.
Financial Turnaround: India has historically imported Rs 40,000 crore worth of PCBs annually. Localizing production in Jewar will drastically cut import reliance, directly plugging foreign exchange outflows, boosting the Balance of Payments (BoP), and reinforcing the Indian Rupee.
Macro Growth: The 2014 vs. 2026 Trajectory
The domestic electronics landscape has expanded exponentially over the last decade, with targets set on making India the second-largest electronics exporter globally.
| Metric | FY 2014-15 | FY 2025-26 | Growth Factor |
| Total Electronics Production | Rs 1.9 Lakh Crore | Rs 13 Lakh Crore | 6x Increase |
| Total Electronics Exports | Minimal Baseline | Rs 13 Lakh Crore | 11x Increase |

Why Jewar Is Winning Global Investors
The rapid transformation of the Yamuna City region into North India’s “Silicon Valley” is heavily driven by aggressive logistical and infrastructure connectivity:
-
Jewar International Airport: Providing direct, high-speed international cargo and business connectivity.
-
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC): Offering seamless freight links to India’s major commercial ports.
-
High-Speed Rail: The proposed Delhi-Lucknow-Varanasi Bullet Train network routing directly through the region.
