Advance bookings for Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated action entertainer Alpha officially opened on Wednesday, just two days ahead of its global theatrical release on July 3. Early box office trends indicate a solid and steady start for the film.
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Alpha has already amassed ₹1.75 crore through advance ticket sales alone.
Box Office Predictions & Opening Weekend Outlook
The trade remains optimistic about the film’s initial run, banking on its star-studded cast—featuring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.
-
Day 1 Projections: The film is expected to comfortably cross the ₹5 crore mark on Friday.
-
Weekend Outlook: If positive word-of-mouth kicks in, standard projections suggest a cumulative weekend haul of around ₹15 crore.
Box Office Clash: Alpha vs. Baby Do Die Do
Alpha will share its release date with Huma Qureshi’s Baby Do Die Do, setting up a unique box office matchup. However, industry experts believe both films have enough breathing room to thrive independently.
“The two films belong to very different genres and cater to entirely distinct audiences. Alpha shouldn’t face any major issues.” — Ramesh Bala, Trade Analyst
Speaking on the simultaneous release, Huma Qureshi embraced the box office face-off, calling it a fantastic moment for female-led cinema.
-
A “Women-First Friday”: Qureshi noted that the industry has plenty of room for multiple female-centric projects to compete and succeed simultaneously. “Why should only two boy films compete?” she questioned.
-
David vs. Goliath: Qureshi also highlighted the stark contrast in scale. While Baby Do Die Do is a smaller, independently produced venture under the newly launched Saleem Siblings banner, Alpha is a massive YRF Spy Universe tentpole, marking the franchise’s very first female-led installment.
