The legendary German hard rock band Scorpions has officially cancelled its highly anticipated “Coming Home” India Tour just days before its kickoff. The decision comes due to “unforeseen medical circumstances” affecting members of the band.
The tour, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, was set to mark the band’s first appearance in India in nearly two decades.
Affected Tour Dates
The cancellation impacts four major shows scheduled across the country:
-
Shillong: April 21 (JN Stadium)
-
Delhi-NCR: April 24 (HUDA Grounds)
-
Bengaluru: April 26 (NICE Grounds)
-
Mumbai: April 30 (Jio Gardens, BKC)
Official Statement and Refunds
Organizers shared the news via Instagram on Saturday, expressing regret over the situation. While the specific nature of the medical issues was not disclosed, the statement emphasized the band’s desire to return to India as soon as their schedule and health permit.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans… All tickets purchased on BookMyShow will be automatically refunded within 7-10 working days.”
A Long-Awaited Return Cut Short
Founded in 1965, the band—currently consisting of Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine, Matthias Jabs, Paweł Mąciwoda, and Mikkey Dee—last performed in India during the 2007 “Humanity World Tour.”
Earlier this month, guitarist Matthias Jabs had expressed the band’s excitement to play for a new generation of Indian fans. Unfortunately, those fans will have to wait a bit longer to hear classics like “Wind of Change” and “Blackout” live on Indian soil.
