The automotive world has just witnessed the arrival of a truly unique machine. The JC9, a bespoke, one-off supercar commissioned by an anonymous collector, has officially debuted. Designed by the legendary Jason Castriota in collaboration with Miller Motorcars, the vehicle seamlessly fuses the visceral, analog mechanicals of the iconic Porsche Carrera GT with a breathtaking custom body inspired by motorsport’s golden eras.
The name “JC9” represents Castriota’s ninth custom automotive masterpiece, and it serves as a stunning reminder of the enduring art of modern coachbuilding.
Mechanical Soul: Preserving the Analog V10
While the exterior is unrecognizable, the underlying skeleton and powertrain remain pure Porsche Carrera GT. The builders wisely left the legendary donor car’s mechanical core untouched, resisting any temptation to add turbochargers or hybrid assistance.
-
The Engine: At the heart of the JC9 is Porsche’s celebrated, naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10. Famous for its razor-sharp throttle response and a howling, Formula 1-derived exhaust note, the engine pumps out its original 612 horsepower.
-
The Gearbox: True to its purist roots, the V10 is mated to the Carrera GT’s traditional six-speed manual transmission, ensuring the demanding, highly engaging driving dynamics remain completely intact.
Design Philosophy: Tribute to Le Mans Legends
Visually, the JC9 steps away from the jagged, hyper-aggressive design trends dominating today’s hypercar market. Instead, Castriota opted for an elegant, fluid silhouette that pays homage to endurance racing prototypes of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
-
The Silhouette: With its ultra-low stance, smooth, sweeping curves, and a distinctive elongated rear deck, the car heavily echoes the iconic lines of historic racers like the Porsche 917K.
-
Modern Material: To ensure the vehicle remains incredibly light and agile, the entire retro-inspired bodywork has been meticulously crafted from lightweight carbon fiber.
Because the JC9 was built strictly as a private commission, it will remain a standalone masterpiece with zero plans for commercial production.
