Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two major sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, bringing the total operational length of the 379-km-long corridor to approximately 150 km. Part of the larger Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (NE-4) project, the newly opened sections include the 36-km Kim-Ena section and the 27.5-km Gandeva-Ena section, completed at a cost of Rs 7,689 crore.

Strategic Connectivity: Links directly with the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway (NE-1), the Delhi-NCR network (KMP and DND Flyway via the main Delhi-Mumbai corridor), and future Maharashtra links including the Samruddhi Mahamarg and Mumbai-Pune Expressway at Amane, Virar, and JNPT.

Project Timeline: Construction is actively underway on the Valsad-Vapi section in South Gujarat and the Palghar, Virar, and JNPT (Navi Mumbai) sections in Maharashtra, with full project completion targeted for 2027-2028.
