New Delhi, September 15, 2026: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, showcased its major railway and infrastructure projects, technical capabilities, and emerging technologies at INNOPROM. India 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 9 to 11.
A key highlight of the three-day international industrial exhibition was the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the RVNL stall. RVNL Chairman and Managing Director Salim Ahmed welcomed the two leaders during their visit.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Trainset Model on Display
Among the major projects showcased at the RVNL stall was a model of the Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset. The trainsets are being developed in collaboration with a Russian partner.
RVNL and Russian company TMH have formed KINET for the manufacturing of these trainsets. The project brings together India’s manufacturing capabilities and Russia’s technical expertise, highlighting the growing technological partnership between the two countries.
TBM Model Highlights Himalayan Rail Project
Another major attraction at the stall was a model of a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). The technology is being used for tunnel construction under the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Link Project, which passes through the challenging Himalayan region.
The project is among India’s significant railway infrastructure initiatives and demonstrates the use of advanced engineering solutions in difficult geographical conditions.
New Pamban Railway Sea Bridge Also Showcased
RVNL also displayed a model of the New Pamban Railway Sea Bridge, India’s first vertical lift railway bridge. The model highlighted RVNL’s capabilities in advanced railway infrastructure and engineering.
The bridge was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, according to the company’s press release.
In addition, RVNL’s BharatNet project in Uttar Pradesh was presented through a dedicated display and video presentation.
RVNL Projects and Capabilities Attract Visitors
The RVNL stall featured information panels, brochures, project models, and video presentations highlighting the organisation’s major projects and capabilities. The company’s corporate film and films covering its key projects and activities were also screened throughout the exhibition.
RVNL stated that its stall received a positive response from visitors. A large number of attendees showed interest in the projects, technologies, and activities on display and recorded their comments, suggestions, and feedback in the visitors’ book.
INNOPROM India 2026 Promotes India-Russia Industrial Cooperation
Held in India for the first time, INNOPROM. India 2026 served as an international industrial trade exhibition and business platform aimed at promoting trade, industrial cooperation, technological partnerships, and investment between India and Russia.
The three-day event brought together industry representatives, policymakers, technology companies, buyers, and suppliers from sectors including engineering, metallurgy, materials, digital technology, chemicals, and mining.
The exhibition was jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Formika Event served as the event operator.
RVNL’s Expanding Infrastructure Footprint
According to the company, RVNL has completed more than 157 projects spanning over 17,000 kilometres. The organisation has also expanded beyond railway infrastructure into other sectors, including metro projects.
RVNL is currently involved in metro-related work across approximately 10 cities and is expanding its presence in infrastructure projects in India and overseas.
