Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has weighed in on the raging industry controversy involving the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and superstar Ranveer Singh. Speaking candidly at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Kangana brushed off the gravity of industry sanctions, drawing from her own turbulent relationship with film bodies.
“I’ve been banned by everybody,” Kangana stated. “When your status and stature grow, your enemies grow too. It’s impossible for your position to rise without a simultaneous rise in adversaries. So, one should instead focus on what their true stature is.”
Kangana further emphasized that professional roadblocks are merely a natural byproduct of scaling success in the entertainment business. “When you move forward in life, there are many obstacles. You can’t have a smooth walk all the time. It doesn’t matter. It’s okay. Everything is going to be fine eventually,” she reassured.
Inside the Ranveer Singh Don 3 Row
The dispute ignited when FWICE initiated a “non-cooperation directive” against Ranveer Singh following his eleventh-hour exit from Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated directorial venture, Don 3.
The Producer’s Complaint
According to FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar formally lodged a complaint against Ranveer Singh on April 11. The complaint alleged that the actor abruptly backed out of Don 3 just three weeks before the production unit was scheduled to fly out for filming, causing immense financial and logistical disruption.
While co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani attended a mediation meeting in person, Farhan Akhtar joined the proceedings virtually from London. The film body claimed it dispatched three formal notices to Ranveer Singh regarding the matter but received zero response, prompting the severe directive.
Clarification: “Non-Cooperation, Not a Ban”
As rumors of an industry-wide blacklisting began to circulate, Ashoke Pandit clarified that the federation holds no legal authority to issue an official “ban” on any individual. Instead, they have activated a strict non-cooperation stance across all 30 sub-craft unions (including technicians, lightmen, and spot boys) associated with FWICE.
Until Ranveer Singh resolves the conflict with Excel Entertainment, union members are instructed to abstain from working on any sets featuring the actor. The federation maintains that this measure is necessary to prevent a damaging trend of stars abandoning massive projects at the last minute.
Kangana Preps for Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata
Amidst the industry chatter, Kangana Ranaut is completely focused on the release of her patriotic drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. The newly unveiled trailer centers around the profound grit and extraordinary bravery exhibited by frontline hospital staff and medical workers during the tragic 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The film is locked and scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on June 12, 2026.
