A final-year LLB student in Jaipur is currently in police custody for allegedly orchestrating the contract killing of her own mother to secure a government job. The case has taken a darker turn as her maternal uncle now alleges that she may have also murdered her father last year.
The suspect, 23-year-old Ayushi Sharma, allegedly conspired with her paternal uncle, Mohan Swaroop, and her cousin, Balram, to eliminate her mother, Neeraj Sharma. The group reportedly hired contract killers for Rs 7 lakh to run Neeraj over with an SUV, attempting to disguise the premeditated murder as a routine road accident.
The Deadly Motivation Behind the Hit-and-Run
The victim, 45-year-old Neeraj Sharma, worked as a lower division clerk at a Jaipur court. She had secured the position on compassionate grounds following the death of her husband, Vijay Sharma, who had served as a court master before passing away last year after a prolonged illness.
According to the police, Ayushi heavily resented her mother for taking the government job, believing it belonged to her. Driven by a desire to claim the employment benefit and inherit the family property, Ayushi plotted the crime over three months.
On July 3, while Neeraj was walking home after dropping her younger son off at a coaching center, she was struck at high speed by a Scorpio SUV. The impact killed her instantly. While police initially treated the incident as a traffic accident, local CCTV footage and a formal complaint from Neeraj’s brother, Rakesh Sharma, exposed the murder plot. Police have since arrested Ayushi, her uncle Mohan, and five alleged hitmen, while a hunt remains underway for her cousin Balram.
Uncle Alleges a Second Murder Cover-Up
Following Ayushi’s arrest, her maternal uncle, Rakesh Sharma, stepped forward with grave new allegations, claiming that Ayushi and Balram were also responsible for the death of her father, Vijay Sharma, in April 2025.
Rakesh alleged that when Vijay suffered a brain stroke, Ayushi and Balram checked him into an undisclosed private hospital, keeping the rest of the family entirely in the dark regarding his location and treatment for three months. When relatives finally located him, doctors revealed that several of his vital organs were already failing.
Most disturbingly, the uncle claimed that Ayushi later threatened her mother during a domestic dispute, boasting that she had previously killed her father by intentionally pulling out his medical feeding tube. Jaipur police are actively investigating these claims and are cross-examining Ayushi in custody to determine if the father’s death warrants separate murder charges.
