The primary reason for the change is the heavy election activity scheduled for April 26, with voting taking place in major cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, and Rajkot. To ensure security and logistics run smoothly, the following changes are now in effect:

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the rest of the tournament itinerary remains unaffected. The board cited the logistical challenges of hosting a high-profile match on the same day as municipal voting and the subsequent vote counting on April 28 as the sole reason for the revision.
