Audi Unveils Q9 as Its Largest Flagship SUV

Audi has officially unveiled the Q9, its largest and most luxurious flagship SUV to date. Positioned above the Q7, the new model marks the debut of Audi’s “9” designation and becomes the brand’s second three-row SUV.

The Q9 is scheduled to reach the Indian market in the second quarter of 2027 as a locally assembled model. Global production will take place at Audi’s Bratislava plant in Slovakia, with international deliveries starting in November 2026 at a starting price of 108,400 euros (approx. Rs 1.18 crore before local taxes and duties).

Bold Exterior Design & Advanced Lighting

The Q9 introduces a fresh, commanding aesthetic designed to compete directly with the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS:

• Front Fascia: Features a large upright Singleframe grille with illuminated vertical slats, an illuminated 2D Audi logo, and a split-headlight setup. The Digital Matrix LED headlights use micro-LED modules capable of projecting warning symbols and turn indicators directly onto the road surface.

• Side Profile: Clean, imposing silhouette with wheel options ranging from 20 to 23 inches. The 22- and 23-inch wheels feature acoustic foam inserts to reduce road noise. It also gets soft-closing automatic doors equipped with collision-detection sensors.

• Rear Profile: Connected digital OLED tail-lamps featuring a full-width light bar, an illuminated Audi logo, and a sportier lower bumper with twin exhaust tips.

Performance-Focused SQ9 Variant

Alongside the standard model, Audi showcased the higher-performance SQ9, featuring:

• A revised front grille with silver L-shaped inserts, ‘S’ badging, and a honeycomb lower air intake pattern.

• Unique alloy wheels, quad exhaust tailpipes, and silver exterior window trim.

• A black-and-white interior theme accented with carbon-fiber trim, an ‘S’-badged three-spoke steering wheel, and embossed headrests.

Ultra-Luxury Cabin & Technology

The Q9 comes standard as a 7-seater, with an optional 6-seater configuration featuring second-row captain’s chairs. All three rows offer power adjustment, with the third row foldable via the infotainment system or boot controls.

Key cabin highlights include:

• Triple-Screen Layout: 12.3-inch digital driver’s instrument display, a 14.5-inch central infotainment touchscreen running Android Automotive OS, and a dedicated 12.3-inch front passenger display with privacy mode.

• Comfort & Audio: Audi’s largest panoramic sunroof (with optional switchable transparency and ambient-synced lighting), a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system, dual wireless chargers, and USB Type-C ports across all three rows.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The Q9 is loaded with cutting-edge driver assistance tech, including:

• Level 2 ADAS with a 360-degree camera system and automated parking assist.

• Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus: Enables partially automated hands-free driving on approved highways at speeds up to 130 km/h—a first for any production Audi model.
