Ducati has taken a major step toward bringing the 2026 Monster to the Indian market by officially filing its design patent. Following its global debut, this filing strongly hints at an upcoming launch in India.
Redesigned Exterior & Classic Monster Cues
The 2026 update restores much of the muscular visual presence that fans felt was missing in the previous iteration:
-
Fuel Tank: Features reshaped, muscular proportions with integrated air vents reminiscent of the second-generation Monster.
-
Lighting: Updated front headlamp setup featuring a signature circular Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) and dynamic turn indicators at both ends.
-
Display: Upgraded 5-inch TFT color console (replacing the previous 4.2-inch unit) for better legibility and modern interface navigation.
Engine & Key Mechanical Updates
At the heart of the new Monster is Ducati’s latest 890cc V2 engine, shared across the new Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2, and Multistrada V2 platforms.
-
Power Output: 111 hp @ 9,000 rpm
-
Peak Torque: 91.1 Nm @ 7,250 rpm
-
Variable Intake Valve Timing (IVT): Broadens torque delivery, making power more accessible at lower and mid-range revs for daily riding.
-
Non-Desmodromic Valve Actuation: Valve clearance inspection intervals are extended to 45,000 km, significantly reducing maintenance hassle and ownership costs.
-
Transmission: 6-speed gearbox equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
