Tata Motors has officially pulled the wraps off its highly anticipated 2026 Tiago facelift and its all-electric sibling, the Tiago EV facelift. Marking the first major updates for the entry-level hatchback lineup in quite some time, the refreshed models borrow aggressive styling cues and tech upgrades from the brand’s larger stablemates, like the Altroz and Punch.
While the formal price announcement is locked in for May 28, 2026, the unveiling highlights substantial changes across the exterior, interior styling, and feature list.
Sharp New Styling: What’s Changed Outside?
The 2026 Tiago family undergoes a significant face transplant to establish a much bolder road presence.
-
Front Fascia: Both models get sleeker, completely redesigned headlights integrated with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The petrol/CNG version adapts a larger, aggressive black grille reminiscent of the Altroz, while the EV version keeps a clean, body-colored blanked-off cover.
-
The Profile: The classic hatchback silhouette remains intact, but it is elevated by a brand-new set of 15-inch sharp-cut alloy wheels.
-
Rear Design: The taillights feature a modern graphic signature made of three vertical lines sliced by a horizontal element. The lights seamlessly lead your eye to the central Tata badge, complemented by bold “TIAGO” lettering across the tailgate and a sculpted rear bumper.
Interior Overhaul and Expected Tech
Stepping inside, the cabin layout feels far more premium. The driver gets an updated digital instrument cluster and a modern steering wheel equipped with Tata’s signature illuminated logo.
Dominating the center console is a new, floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. While Tata has not finalized the official feature sheet, the facelifts are highly expected to pack:
-
6 Airbags (Standardizing safety across the range)
-
A 360-degree surround-view camera system
-
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
-
Automatic headlights, cruise control, and a cooled glovebox
Mechanical Lineup: Powertrain and Range
| Variant | Engine / Battery Size | Power / Torque | Transmission / Claimed Range |
| Tiago Petrol | 1.2L 3-Cylinder NA Petrol | 86 hp / 113 Nm | 5-Speed Manual / 5-Speed AMT |
| Tiago iCNG | 1.2L Bi-Fuel CNG | 75 hp / 96 Nm | 5-Speed Manual (Single ECU tech) |
| Tiago EV (Medium Range) | 19.2 kWh Battery Pack | 61 hp / 110 Nm | 223 km Range (Current spec) |
| Tiago EV (Long Range) | 24.0 kWh Battery Pack | 75 hp / 114 Nm | 293 km Range (Current spec) |
Note on EV Range: Following the trend set by the recent Punch EV launch, industry insiders suggest Tata might introduce slightly higher-density battery packs to bump up real-world and ARAI-certified driving ranges.
