MUMBAI, MARCH 24, 2026 — Just days after BTS made their long-awaited global comeback with the album Arirang, their parent company, HYBE, has officially turned its gaze toward India. In a massive expansion of its global artist discovery initiative, HYBE INDIA has announced a nationwide audition to identify the next generation of musical superstars from the Indian subcontinent and its diaspora.
The move marks a historic entry for the South Korean entertainment titan—the force behind global acts like SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, and KATSEYE—into the Indian talent ecosystem.
The “Multi-Home” Strategy: Local Talent, Global Training
Following the launch of its Mumbai-based subsidiary in November 2025, HYBE is now ready to implement its “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy in India. The goal is to identify raw Indian talent and put them through the company’s legendary, world-class K-pop training and production system.
“The HYBE INDIA Audition aims to identify aspiring music talent… to enter the company’s world-class training ecosystem,” a spokesperson for HYBE INDIA stated. “The program is designed to nurture artists who can represent India on the global stage.”
Audition Details: Online and In-Person
The talent hunt will be conducted through a hybrid format to ensure maximum reach across the country. In-person auditions are planned for 10 major cities:
-
North: Delhi, Chandigarh
-
South: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad
-
West: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune
-
East/NE: Kolkata, Guwahati
The BTS Connection: “Golden” Opportunities
The timing of the audition has sent the Indian “ARMY” (BTS fans) into a frenzy. Following the success of Jungkook’s GOLDEN: The Moments exhibition in Mumbai last December, speculation is at an all-time high regarding a potential BTS India Tour in late 2026 or 2027.
By establishing a permanent base in India, HYBE is signaling that the country is no longer just a consumer of K-pop, but a vital source of future content and talent.
Shaping the “Next Generation”
The audition is more than just a search for singers; it is a vision to blend “authentic local talent with global expertise.” As K-pop continues to dominate global charts, HYBE’s entry into Mumbai suggests that the next “global story” might just be told with an Indian rhythm.
