Toyota has released the first official teaser for the upcoming Glanza facelift, confirming an India launch on October 14, 2026. Following in the footsteps of its platform twin, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno (which was updated last month), the refreshed premium hatchback promises a fresh look and several anticipated feature upgrades.
Exterior Design Changes
The initial teaser video shines a light on the hatchback’s revamped front fascia, hinting at distinct styling variations from the Baleno:
-
Redesigned Grille: A completely revised front grille setup paired with silver accent detailing.
-
Repositioned Badge: The Toyota logo has been moved up to the leading edge of the bonnet.
-
Aggressive Bumper: Updated front-bumper detailing gives the hatchback a sharper stance.
-
Other Elements: New wheel options are also anticipated, though Toyota is yet to officially confirm them.
Expected Interior and Feature Upgrades
While the overall cabin layout is expected to carry over, the Glanza facelift is likely to inherit several modern tech features introduced in the updated Baleno:
-
Enhanced Comfort: Ventilated front seats and a cooled wireless charging pad.
-
Infotainment: A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a Clarion audio system.
-
Level 2 ADAS: The biggest mechanical/tech leap expected is the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, featuring adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam assist (variant-dependent).
Engine and Transmission Options
Under the hood, the Glanza is expected to ditch its older 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine in favor of the Baleno’s newer 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine (which pushes out roughly 83 hp and 112 Nm of torque).
-
Gearboxes: Transmission duties will likely be handled by a manual gearbox and an automated manual transmission (AMT).
-
CNG Variant: A CNG option paired with an AMT (similar to the updated Baleno) could also be on the cards.
Summary
The refreshed Toyota Glanza will continue its rivalry in the premium hatchback segment against cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Tata Altroz. Full pricing, variant splits, and complete specifications will be officially revealed on October 14, 2026.
