Mega Power Star Ram Charan has made a thunderous return to form at the global box office with his highly anticipated sports action drama, Peddi. Following the underwhelming performance of his previous theatrical outing, Game Changer, the stakes were incredibly high for the RRR star. However, Ram Charan has delivered precisely what the trade and his massive fandom were anticipating.
After a spectacular launch, the film continued its dominant run on Friday, bringing its worldwide gross collection to an impressive ₹150.49 crore within just two days of its theatrical release.
The Day 2 Box Office Breakdown
According to data tracking from Sacnilk, Peddi maintained a strong grip on its second day, netting ₹26.90 crore across 10,113 shows in India. While this represents a standard post-opening drop of roughly 47 percent compared to its massive Day 1 momentum, the domestic hold remains exceptionally healthy for a working Friday.
The film’s performance in international markets has also provided significant padding to its total value. On Day 2, overseas territories contributed another ₹8.00 crore gross, pushing the global cumulative earnings past the ₹150 crore milestone.
Regional Performance and Audience Pull
Unsurprisingly, the home Telugu markets are driving the lion’s share of ticket sales. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone generated a massive ₹25.00 crore gross on Friday, recording a striking evening and night theatre occupancy of around 60 percent.
Karnataka emerged as the second-most lucrative territory, adding ₹3.23 crore gross, while the remaining Indian states combined brought in approximately ₹3.77 crore. The dubbed Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada versions have seen a slower start, though industry experts anticipate a major surge in footfalls over the weekend as wider family audiences turn out.
A Whistle-Worthy Cinematic Collaboration
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi marks the very first on-screen pairing between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast, featuring seasoned performers like Vijay Sethupathi, Shiva Rajkumar, Boman Irani, Divyenndu, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
Set against a rustic, rural backdrop, the narrative follows a spirited young villager who discovers his true identity, purpose, and community pride through sports, exploring disciplines like cricket, sprinting, and wrestling.
“At the heart of Peddi is Ram Charan, who has given it his all in this role. He has immersed himself in the raw, rustic role and dominates every scene, whether it is romance, sports or fighting for his community. And Buchi Babu Sana has ensured plenty of elevation scenes and his superb dancing skills for the Telugu star, which are whistle-worthy, along with a strong emotional arc.”

With a production budget crossing ₹250 crore, Peddi has a long commercial journey ahead. Trade analysts estimate that the sports drama will need to cross a worldwide gross of ₹400 crore to ₹450 crore to achieve comfortable breakeven status. Given its explosive weekend projections, the film has placed itself on a phenomenal trajectory to cross that finish line.
