Mercedes-Benz has officially pulled the covers off the all-new electric C-Class, a pivotal move for the brand’s most recognizable nameplate. Leveraging a dedicated EV architecture shared with the upcoming GLC EV, this sedan aims to redefine the segment with a potent mix of high-end performance, ultra-fast charging, and “range anxiety-killing” endurance.
1. Striking Performance & Efficiency
The electric C-Class is no slouch in the speed department. Its dual-motor setup delivers a robust 470 bhp (360 kW), propelling the sedan from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.0 seconds. Beyond raw power, the vehicle focuses on efficiency, utilizing a sleek, aerodynamic fastback silhouette to slice through the air.
2. Industry-Leading Range
Equipped with a 94 kWh battery pack, the C-Class EV boasts a claimed WLTP range of up to 762 km. For those looking to go even further, Mercedes confirmed a rear-wheel-drive variant is on the horizon, which is expected to push that range closer to the 800 km mark.
3. Next-Gen 800V Charging
Time at the plug is drastically reduced thanks to the advanced 800-volt electrical architecture.
-
Max Charging Speed: Supports up to 330 kW DC fast charging.
-
The 10-Minute Rule: Under ideal conditions, you can add 325 km of range in just 10 minutes.
4. A Cabin From the Future
The interior is headlined by the massive 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which blankets the dashboard. Powered by the new MB.OS, the system features:
-
AI Integration: Smart voice assistance and navigation that automatically plans charging stops.
-
Luxury Perks: Multi-zone climate control, 4D surround sound, and ventilated massage seats.
-
Practicality: A 470-litre rear boot complemented by a 101-litre “frunk” (front trunk).
5. Advanced Handling & Utility
Mercedes hasn’t sacrificed utility for electrification. The sedan features AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering for superior maneuverability in tight city spaces. Additionally, it offers a towing capacity of up to 1.8 tonnes, a rarity for many electric sedans in this class.
Market Outlook: The electric C-Class will debut first in the United States. Global markets, including India, are expected to see the model arrive throughout 2027.
