New details have emerged in the high-profile Gurugram hit-and-run case involving prime accused Kalyan Bainsla and woman biker Shivani Chauhan (known as Sia). According to Special Investigation Team (SIT) sources, Bainsla and his friends were returning from a party at a club when the incident occurred.

The Chase: Following an initial altercation near the Sector 53 metro station in Gurugram, Bainsla chased the woman biker for at least two kilometres before ramming his Maruti Suzuki Ciaz into her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike from behind, sending her skidding across the road.

Passenger Complicity: Bainsla was driving the vehicle, while his friend and cousin, Lavnish, was seated in the passenger seat. According to investigators, Lavnish allegedly instigated Bainsla to chase the biker during the altercation.

Expanded Police Action: The Gurugram police have served notices to the other two individuals who were present in the vehicle at the time. Their statements are being recorded by the SIT to determine their exact roles and whether further arrests are warranted.

Medical and Legal Status: Both Bainsla and Lavnish have been sent to police custody, and blood and urine samples from the accused have been sent for forensic testing to check for alcohol consumption. Police have also formally added charges of attempt to murder (Section 109 of the BNS), stalking, and acts against the modesty of a woman to the FIR.
Sia has expressed that the initial arrests are not enough, demanding accountability for all occupants in the vehicle to ensure safety for women riders on public roads.
