In a lighthearted moment during her latest cooking vlog, filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan shared her candid thoughts on the Khurrana brothers, sparking a playful debate about who reigns supreme in comedy. While visiting Aparshakti Khurana’s Mumbai home, Farah admitted that she initially had reservations about his transition from radio to the big screen.
From Radio Jockey to Screen Star
Farah reminisced about meeting Aparshakti during the Om Shanti Om promotions while he was still working as an RJ. She confessed that she wasn’t sure if he could make the leap to cinema.
“When he was entering films, I wondered how a radio jockey would manage, but he has done really well,” Farah noted. “Not only that, he has also become such a good actor.”
The compliment took a bold turn when she compared him to his National Award-winning brother, Ayushmann Khurrana. Turning to Aparshakti, she quipped, “Ayushmann is there, of course, but sometimes I feel your comic timing is better than his. Sorry, Ayushmann!”
The Evolution of Aparshakti Khurana
Since his debut in the global hit Dangal, Aparshakti has built a diverse filmography that balances comedy with intense drama:
-
Comedy Successes: Stree, Luka Chuppi, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Pati Patni Aur Woh.
-
Dramatic Acclaim: He received significant praise for his role in the web series Jubilee, showcasing his depth as a performer.
-
Upcoming Project: He is set to star in Badtameez Gill, a comedy-drama featuring Paresh Rawal and Vaani Kapoor.
Farah Khan’s Directorial Future
The vlog also touched upon Farah’s own plans. Having dominated the YouTube space with her cooking and lifestyle content, she confirmed she intends to return to the director’s chair by the end of 2026—on one condition.
Farah stated she is waiting for Shah Rukh Khan’s availability to begin her next project, noting that she would rather continue her digital content than direct without her longtime collaborator. The pair has previously delivered massive hits such as Main Hoon Na and Happy New Year.
