More than a year after the sudden passing of versatile actor Mukul Dev at age 54, the cast and crew of the upcoming action-comedy Udta Teer turned the film’s trailer launch into a touching memorial for his final on-screen performance.
Remembering a “Brilliant Talent”
Speaking at the event, lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana reflected on Dev’s career and contribution to cinema, noting that the industry often failed to fully leverage his capabilities.
“Mukul Dev was one of the brightest, most brilliant talents in our country… We sadly underutilised him. In Udta Teer, you’ll see him for the last time. This is like a swan song; it’s a tribute to Mukul Dev.”
Director Aakash Kaushik also shared emotional memories of working with Dev, recalling how anxious and excited the actor was about how audiences would receive his role. Kaushik asserted that Udta Teer features what is arguably Dev’s finest piece of work, promising that the audience will fall in love with his performance.
