Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has officially entered the AI Factory market after winning a massive project valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore (classified internally as a “mega order”). Under the agreement, L&T will build India’s largest single-cluster Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure hub at its data center campus in Chennai.
Key Highlights of the Project
-
Strategic Purpose: The facility is designed to power the AI-native cloud platform for US-based Together AI, providing computing power for large-scale AI inference, fine-tuning, and model training.
-
Executing Divisions: The project will be led by LTN Compute (L&T’s AI infrastructure arm) alongside Vyoma.AI (L&T’s AI and data center division).
-
Cutting-Edge Hardware: The center will host an integrated AI Factory equipped with 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs.
-
High-Capacity Power Infrastructure: Vyoma’s Chennai campus is planned as a gigawatt-scale AI site. Phase 1 will feature a capacity of 250 MW with immediate power infrastructure readiness for 150 MVA to ensure future scalability.
Full-Stack AI Capabilities
The upcoming facility integrates a comprehensive, end-to-end infrastructure stack, including:
-
Hyperscale data center frameworks
-
Accelerated GPU computing
-
High-performance networking and ultra-low-latency interconnects
-
High-throughput parallel storage
-
Managed AI operational platforms
