Kutch Copper Ltd (KCL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has achieved a major international milestone by securing London Metal Exchange (LME) registration for its “Adani Copper” Grade A cathodes. Starting July 10, 2026, the brand will officially be recognized as an LME Good Delivery brand, allowing its cathodes to be delivered against LME copper futures contracts and stored in LME-approved warehouses.
This certification validates KCL’s manufacturing quality and responsible sourcing practices against strict global benchmarks. Operating a 500,000-tonne-per-year facility in Mundra—one of the largest single-location custom copper smelters in the world—the company aims to leverage this approval to deepen its footprint in the global refined copper market.
To achieve LME registration, producers must clear stringent evaluations regarding chemical composition, shape, weight, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Vinay Prakash, CEO of Natural Resources at Adani Enterprises and Managing Director of Kutch Copper, noted that copper serves as the backbone for the global energy transition. He emphasized that this recognition positions Adani alongside the world’s leading copper producers, elevates India’s status in the international metals industry, and marks a significant step toward domestic self-reliance in refined copper.
