Tesla has officially expanded its Indian lineup with the launch of the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) variant, priced at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
This new version effectively replaces the older Long Range Premium RWD variant—which retailed at a much steeper Rs 67.80 lakh—making Tesla’s popular electric crossover substantially more accessible to Indian buyers. With this structural shift, Tesla’s local catalog now consists of two distinct variants: the entry-level Premium RWD and the higher-end L Premium AWD. Official deliveries for the Premium RWD are scheduled to begin in July 2026.

While Tesla has not publicly finalized the exact battery capacity or motor specifications specifically for India, the version sold in equivalent international markets provides a solid blueprint for what owners can expect:
