Rolls-Royce has unveiled Project Nightingale, the debut vehicle of its new Coachbuild Collection program. Following in the footsteps of the ultra-exclusive Boat Tail and Droptail, the Nightingale is a strictly limited two-seater convertible that merges the brand’s silent electric future with the aesthetic grandeur of the 1920s.
Only 100 units of this masterpiece will be produced worldwide.
Design: Art Deco Meets Modern Scale
The Nightingale is a visual tribute to the Streamline Moderne style of the Art Deco era. Its design is both massive and minimalist:
-
Dimensions: At 18.9 feet long, it shares the same imposing footprint as the flagship Phantom, yet it remains exclusively a two-seater.
-
The Face: It features a massive three-foot-wide Pantheon Grille with 24 hand-polished aluminum vanes. Flanking the grille are vertically arranged, slender headlights designed specifically for this model.
-
Wheels: It rides on 24-inch wheels, the largest ever fitted to a production Rolls-Royce.
-
Paintwork: The exterior is finished in a unique light blue with red metallic flecks—a nod to the brand’s experimental prototypes from a century ago.
The “Starlight Breeze” Interior
Inside, the Nightingale introduces the Starlight Breeze Suite, an evolution of the brand’s famous headliner:
-
Vast Illumination: It features 10,500 individual fiber-optic “stars” that wrap around the occupants in a horseshoe shape, extending from the door panels to the area behind the seats.
-
Materials: The cabin is draped in Charles Blue leather with Grace White accents and Deep Navy inserts, complemented by a light silver finish for the convertible top.
Underpinnings: Silent Power
The Nightingale is built upon the same dedicated electric architecture as the Rolls-Royce Spectre:
-
Powertrain: Dual electric motors providing an all-electric drive.
-
Performance: It delivers a minimum of 577 HP, though custom tuning for individual coachbuilt clients may result in higher outputs.
-
Philosophy: The silent nature of the EV powertrain perfectly complements the “Nightingale” name, emphasizing a serene, open-air driving experience.
