MUMBAI – Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has officially cemented its status as a historic cinematic phenomenon. In just 11 days, the Ranveer Singh-led sequel has not only surpassed its record-breaking predecessor but has also climbed to the top of the charts as the highest-earning Hindi film of all time.
According to latest data from Sacnilk, the film brought in ₹68.10 crore this past Sunday, pushing its total worldwide collection to a staggering ₹1,361.95 crore.
Global Dominance
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is rewriting the record books across the globe:
-
North America: The film has dethroned the nine-year record held by Baahubali 2. Crossing the $22 million (₹183 crore) mark in 10 days, it is now the highest-grossing Indian film ever in the region.
-
Australia: With earnings surpassing AUD 6 million (₹38.98 crore), it has overtaken the original Dhurandhar to become the top Indian film in Australian box office history.
-
Global Rankings: Dhurandhar 2 now stands as the 4th highest-grossing Indian film ever, surpassing the lifetime collections of RRR (₹1,230 crore) and KGF: Chapter 2 (₹1,215 crore). It now trails only Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2.
Sprints and Saturdays
The film’s pace is unprecedented in the Hindi film industry. It is now the fastest Hindi film to cross the ₹1,000 crore mark.
On its second Saturday, the film collected ₹58 crore in its Hindi version alone, breaking the previous record held by Pushpa 2 (₹46 crore). Its opening week was equally dominant, raking in ₹546.04 crore in the Hindi belt, shattering the previous first-week record of ₹425 crore.
A New Era for Ranveer Singh
With the massive success of both Dhurandhar films, Ranveer Singh has joined an elite league previously occupied only by Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas. He is now one of only three actors to have two films in the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
As the film continues its theatrical run with no signs of slowing down, trade analysts are watching closely to see if it can challenge the top three positions on the all-time Indian leaderboard.
