Kia India has officially rolled out the first locally assembled unit of the Sorento from its Anantapur manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. Slated to launch on September 4, 2026, the Sorento will serve as Kia’s flagship combustion-engine SUV in the country, sitting above the Seltos in the brand’s portfolio.
Pre-bookings are now open across Kia dealerships and the official website for a token amount of ₹25,000.
Powertrain Options & AWD
The India-spec Sorento will mark Kia’s local debut in the all-wheel-drive (AWD) strong-hybrid segment, offering two distinct engine options:

1.6-Litre Turbo-Petrol Strong-Hybrid: Delivers 238 hp and 380 Nm, equipped with AWD and dedicated terrain modes on select variants.

2.2-Litre Diesel Engine: Produces 202 hp and 441 Nm.
Both powertrains will come paired with automatic transmissions.
