To celebrate eight decades of two-wheeled legacy, Vespa has taken the wraps off a new limited-edition scooter: the Edizione Ottantesimo. Unveiled in Rome during the “80 Years of an Icon” festival, this special model pays homage to Vespa’s heritage while packing its most powerful modern mechanics.
To maintain strict exclusivity, production will be limited to exactly 1,946 units worldwide—a direct nod to the year Vespa first started production.
Heritage Design Meets Raw Style
The Edizione Ottantesimo ditches Vespa’s traditionally bright color palettes for a stripped-back, retro aesthetic that honors its roots.
-
Raw Steel Finish: The scooter features a unique raw steel-inspired body color, celebrating the classic all-steel monocoque construction that has defined Vespa since 1946.
-
Vintage Accents: Contrasting green accents on the saddle, wheel rims, and side graphics nod to the earliest Vespa models.
-
Custom Geometry: It comes with a removable, color-matched rear seat cowl for a sleek, single-seater look, heat-sealed seat stitching, and redesigned wheel rims inspired by the original 1946 Vespa 98.
-
Collector’s Badge: A 3D “80” graphic mimics Vespa’s vintage hexagonal logo, and a numbered plaque is tucked neatly under the seat.
Features, Tech, and Mechanical Power
While the exterior looks back at history, the technology inside is firmly planted in the present. The special edition is built on the foundation of the flagship Vespa GTS 310.
| Feature Category | Specifications & Equipment |
| Engine & Output | 310cc single-cylinder engine producing 25 hp (Vespa’s most powerful production model to date) |

Exclusive Collector Perks
Vespa is leaning heavily into the collector appeal for this 1,946-unit run. Every buyer will receive a matching open-face helmet finished in the anniversary grey-and-green color scheme.
The Assouline Partnership: Each scooter also ships with a premium hardcover book curated by luxury publisher Assouline, filled with archival photographs and documents charting Vespa’s 80-year journey.
For riders looking to customize, Vespa is offering optional color-matched accessories including a 36-liter top box, windshields, luggage racks, and dedicated crash guards.
