The countdown to Cocktail 2 is officially on, but before the film hits theaters tomorrow, June 19, its leading ladies are setting the record straight.
Amid buzzing internet rumors suggesting that co-stars Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna play romantic partners in the upcoming sequel, the duo put the speculation to rest during a recent promotional event. When an audience member quizzed them about a potential on-screen lesbian storyline, Rashmika couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Kriti was quick to shut down the rumors, clarifying:
“There is no lesbian story… We are three straight people, guys. It’s only an emotional threesome, not physical.”
Rashmika playfully chimed in, acknowledging their off-screen vibe: “I know, we do have that chemistry.”

Following in the footsteps of the 2012 hit Cocktail—which famously starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty—this 14-year-later sequel swaps out the original cast but promises to retain the same messy, high-emotion relationship drama.
This time around, Shahid Kapoor plays the self-proclaimed “Kohinoor” of the group, describing love in the trailer as “a torn T-shirt that one wears every night for a comfortable sleep.” The plot features Kriti and Rashmika’s characters fiercely competing for his affection, all while bringing back the iconic, nostalgic track Tum Hi Ho Bandhu to anchor the new trio’s chaotic journey.
