A social media influencer named Mansi has been found dead at her in-laws’ residence in Lucknow. Her family has alleged that she was murdered by her husband, Sagar Rajput, and his relatives over unmet dowry demands for a car, staging the scene to look like a suicide.

The Victim & Suspect: Mansi, originally from Kanpur, married Sagar Rajput in 2024. Both were social media creators, with Rajput holding an Instagram following of nearly 8 lakh (800,000).

The Dowry Allegations: The victim’s family states they provided ₹7 lakh in cash alongside various household items as “gifts” during the wedding. However, they allege Rajput’s family remained unsatisfied, subjected Mansi to constant taunts, and demanded a car.

Escalating Harassment: According to the First Information Report (FIR), Mansi faced continuous physical and mental torture when the demands were not met. Her family had previously traveled to Lucknow multiple times to mediate the marital friction.

Following a written complaint by Mansi’s family, Lucknow police have officially registered a dowry death case.

Accused Named: The case names six individuals, including her husband Sagar Rajput, her father-in-law (Rajesh), her brother-in-law (Anu), two sisters-in-law (Barkha and Chandni), and a paternal aunt-in-law (Asha).
