Trolling Ferrari has officially become the internet’s favorite pastime, and now, Swiss chocolate giant Toblerone has entered the chat with a brilliant, tongue-in-cheek social media post mocking the Italian automaker.
The “Angle” of the Joke
When Ferrari unveiled its first-ever fully electric vehicle, the Luce, it expected a massive reaction. What it probably didn’t expect was getting burned by a chocolate brand.
Following days of internet mockery—where users compared the Luce to a rechargeable Apple Magic Mouse and a generic Nissan hatchback—Toblerone decided to capitalize on the viral wave. The Swiss chocolatier posted an image of a redesigned Toblerone bar, completely stripped of its iconic triangular peaks, flattened out, and painted in the same pale blue shade as the launch-spec Luce.
The caption? “This is not happening.” Toblerone then reassured its fans that, unlike Ferrari, they would “always keep the angles.”
The Core Issue: The internet’s collective meltdown isn’t actually about the electric powertrain. Instead, critics are furious that the Luce abandons Ferrari’s traditional, aggressive design language. To many automotive purists, the car completely lacks the glamour, excitement, and sheer desirability expected of the Prancing Horse.
Devastating Critiques from Within
The backlash isn’t just coming from social media trolls. Former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who famously protected the brand’s heritage during his 23-year tenure, delivered a blistering critique of the new EV.
-
On the design: “If I had to say what I really think, I would be hurting Ferrari.”
-
On the brand’s future: He warned that Ferrari risks “the destruction of a legend” and suggested they might as well remove the iconic Prancing Horse badge altogether.
-
The silver lining: In a final, devastating swipe, di Montezemolo noted that the car is so uninspired that “not even the Chinese will try to copy it.”
Ferrari Luce: By The Numbers
Despite the aesthetic nightmare and PR disaster, Ferrari insists the Luce is a technological masterpiece on paper.
| Spec | Performance / Capability |
| Power Output | 1,035 hp |
| Powertrain | 4 Electric Motors |
| 0 to 100 kmph | 2.5 seconds |
| Seating Capacity | 5 Passengers |
| Utility | Large, spacious trunk |
While it easily outpaces several of Ferrari’s legendary combustion-engine supercars, the ultra-smooth, family-friendly design clearly hasn’t smoothed over any feelings with the brand’s loyal fanbase.
